Rabbit Junk

Rabbit Junk on stage

Forged in Seattle in 2004, Rabbit Junk—JP and "Sum Grrl"—defies genre, blending diverse underground influences into a signature sound.

Their self-titled debut, a demo, earned underground acclaim and a 9/10 Metal Hammer review. REframe (2006) solidified their innovative sampling and fusion, expanding their fanbase. This Life Is Where You Get Fucked (2008) and Project Nonagon (2010) showcased conceptual depth. The 2010s saw a shift to EPs, maintaining consistent evolution.

Their 2018 LP, Rabbit Junk Will Die: Meditations on Mortality, was hailed as their most experimental work. Recently, Apocalypse for Beginners (2022) hit #1 on Bandcamp's metal chart and #2 overall, a significant achievement for a 100% independent band.

Their influences span industrial, punk, metal, hip-hop, classic rock, film scores, and game music. Rabbit Junk's unique contribution is an unyielding dedication to organized chaos, meticulously fusing genres into a cohesive, powerful sound.

JP

JP started Rabbit Junk in Seattle in 2004, after his previous band, the Shizit, came to an end. He writes the words and music and produces the records, playing guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and programming along the way, and he recorded, mixed and mastered Apocalypse for Beginners himself.

Outside Rabbit Junk he has led the industrial metal project the Named, along with the side projects Fighting Ice With Iron and Wolves Under Sail.

Sum Grrl /sem girl/ Artist Female vocalist of band, Rabbit Junk.
